College Magazine Questionnaire and Results
For the preliminary task I designed a questionnaire that would help me to find out what students wanted in a college magazine and what would attract them to buying it. We came up with 10 questions:
Are you male or female?
Do you read the current college magazine?
How much would you be willing to pay for a college magazine?
(With a choice of Free, 50p, £1.50 or £2.00)
How often would you like it published?
(With a choice of Weekly, Fortnightly, Monthly or Every half-term)
What features would you like to see in the magazine? (Pick three)
(With a choice of Film, Music, Sport, Fashion, Technology, Events, Horoscopes, Competitions, Problem Page and Subject Page)
What are your hobbies?
What colours would attract you to the magazine? (Pick three)
(With a choice of Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Pink, Purple, Brown, Black and White)
Would freebies attract you to the magazine?
What type of image would attract you to the magazine?
(With a choice or Student, Technology, Teacher, Celebrity or Other)
We all asked three people to complete the survey. These are the results:

We all asked three people to complete the survey. These are the results:
60% were female, 40% were male.
100% don’t read or even know
the college magazine exists, therefore the product doesn't reach its target
audience.
50% want the magazine for free
but 40% were willing to pay between 50p and £1.00 for the magazine.
45% want the magazine
published monthly, 20% said fortnightly, 20% said every half term and the rest
said weekly.
Film, music, events and
competitions were the top four features readers want to see in the magazine.
Red, black, blue, green and
white were the most popular colours.
Readers wanted vouchers, food
and clothing/merchandise as free gifts in the magazine.
For the main image, 45% wanted
a student, and 25% wanted to see a celebrity.
